The Academy of Design and Innovation, in collaboration with the African Leadership College, ZEEArts Gallery (Dubai), the Nelson Mandela Centre and the National Computer Board( NCB) is hosting the Africa Consortium 2023 to commemorate the Africa Day in Mauritius. This unique event showcased the Designs, Arts and Cultures of the African Countries.
The aim of this consortium was to bring the different countries of the African continent under one roof, where the public will witness the live cultures of Africa.
The event included:
- • The launching ceremony was graced by the presence of the Hon. Soomilduth Bholah, Minister of Industrial Development, SMEs & Cooperatives and other dignitaries at the Labourdonnais Waterfront on 25 May 2023.
- • Africa Speaks 54 – Art Exhibition at Le Plateau, Caudan Waterfront from 25 - 27 May 2023.
- • International Design Conference - Transformation of Future Africa 2nd Edition at the Labourdonnais Waterfront on 25 May 2023.
- • Round Table by the National Computer Board under the Theme ‘Sectoral Focus on 3D Printing for Creative Fashion and Jewellery on 26 May 2023.
- • Fashion Network Showcase under the theme of Quintessence of Africa at Le Suffren Hotel & Marina, on 27 May 2023.
- • Festival Fim Afrikin from 26 to 27 May 2023 at Mcine, Port-louis.

The Academy of Design and Innovation welcomed the first new cohort for the Academic year 2022-2023. An orientation program was organized to help new students become familiar with the campus and learn about the resources and services available to them.
This is an exciting time for the students and staff involved, as these students are embarking on a new chapter of their lives and begin to explore and expand their knowledge and it is vital to provide them the support and guidance throughout their journey.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Academy of Design and Innovation (ADI) and the University of Technology (UTM) to strengthen the ties between the two institutions.

The ADI has its team building on the 14 March 2023 at the Casela Nature Park. The team had the opportunity to participate in the different activities offered at the park and to gather around a lunch. Team Building activities were organized after lunch to create a close-knit team that will ensure productivity and a good work environment through the year.
- On the occasion of celebration of the 55th Independence of the Republic of Mauritius, a series of activities were organized by the Ministry of industrial Development, SMeS and Cooperatives. The Academy of Design and Innovation participated to a Rallye and a Fashion Show where were presented collections on the interpretation of young designers on sustaining the historical clothing of Mauritian into contemporary Fashion.

The Training and Career Guidance Exhibition is an annual event organised by the Rodrigues Regional Assembly through the Commission for Vocational Training.
The main objectives of the Training and Career Guidance Expo is to provide the young rodriguans from Grade 9 to Grade 13, the HSC School leavers, out of school youth and the general public the necessary and important information pertaining to possibilities of continuous lifelong learning which will enhance their employability either in the public and private sector.
The ADI was invited by the Commission for Vocational Training (Rodrigues) to participate in the Training and Career Guidance Exhibition 2023 scheduled on from 2-3 March in Rodrigues
