Pearson BTEC Level5 (HND) Higher National Diploma in Fasion and Textiles
Course Overview
The purpose of Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals in Fashion and Textiles is to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals able to meet the demands of employers in the fashion and textiles sector and adapt to a constantly changing world. The qualifications aim to widen access to higher education and enhance the career prospects of those who undertake them.
Entry requirements
- 3 credits at SC /‘O’ level and at least a pass in English Language
- At least 2 credits at SC/'O' level including Art/Design related subject and at least a pass in English AND National Certificate Level 3 in Jewellery Manufacturing and Design OR any equivalent qualification acceptable to the Institute
- 2 ‘A’ levels preferably in one subject related to Art/Design OR Level 3 Pearson BTEC Extended Diploma in Art and Design OR Level 3 Pearson BTEC Foundation Diploma in Art & Design OR Mature candidates having a creative portfolio in Art & Design and at least 3 years experience in the relevant field OR any equivalent qualification acceptable to the institute.

Note
1. As announced in the Budget Speech 2025/2026, the Free Tertiary Education Schemes (FTES) has been reviewed to cover only full-time students as from academic Year 2025-2026.
The scheme covers tuition fees for Full-Time Registered Students of Mauritian Nationality enrolled in a recognized first award certificate, first diploma and first undergraduate programme. This exemption will apply for payment of tuition fees only, administrative fees and registration fees will be paid by the students.
2. **The Higher National (HN) Student Annual Fee is applicable for those students continuing into their second or subsequent year of study.
