Africa Consortium
  • The Academy of Design and Innovation (ADI) successfully hosted Africa Consortium 2025, a vibrant event celebrating Africa Day and World Environment Day through the theme “Vocation, Value & Visual.” Bringing together creative industries, NGOs, students, and the public, the event featured a dynamic Creative Village exhibition and a haute couture fashion show inspired by Africa’s biodiversity. It highlighted the powerful link between nature and design, promoting sustainable innovation and civic engagement. ADI reaffirmed its commitment to using design as a tool for environmental awareness and transformation across the continent.



Education Fair-Universal College
  • Universal College in Rivière du Rempart hosted an engaging education fair where the Academy of Design and Innovation showcased its programmes, study pathways, and opportunities within the creative industry. Students had the chance to interact with the ADI team, gaining valuable insights and inspiration about careers in design and innovation.



Regional Open Days -SuperU Grand Baie
  • ADI was proud to participate in the Regional Open Days organized by the Ministry of Labour and Industrial Relations as part of the Government Programme 2025–2029. The initiative connected jobseekers and employers with the shared objective of unlocking new employment and training opportunities.



Graduation Ceremony 2023/2024
  • The annual graduation ceremony for the 2023/2024 cohort was held on 24 April 2025 at the Paul Octave Wiehe Auditorium, Réduit, under the patronage of the Honourable Sayed Muhammad Aadil Ameer Meea, Minister of Industry, SMEs and Cooperatives. A total of 63 graduates were awarded qualifications across the fields of Graphic Design, Fashion, Art and Design, and Jewellery Manufacturing. Certificates were also presented to beneficiaries of the National Training and Reskilling Scheme (NTRS), in partnership with the Human Resource Development Council.



Basic Pattern cutting & Garment Making
  • In collaboration with SME Mauritius, ADI launched a 60-hour course in Basic Pattern Cutting & Garment Making, integrated with entrepreneurship skills. Around 25 enthusiastic participants joined the programme, aimed at equipping them with both creative and business competencies for the fashion industry.



Online Award Ceremony
  • ADI hosted an online award ceremony in collaboration with the Seychelles Institute of Art and Design (SIAD), celebrating the completion of the Train the Trainers Programme. Funded by the Indian Ocean Commission (COI), the initiative gathered SIAD’s leadership team for five days of learning, exchange, and innovation in creative education.



Student Induction
  • On 14 April 2025, ADI conducted an induction session for the March intake of the academic year 2025–2026. New students enrolled in NC Level 3 in Art & Design Studies, Pearson BTEC Level 3 Foundation Diploma, and HNDs in Graphic Design and Fashion were welcomed. The orientation included a campus tour and introductions to programme coordinators, lecturers, and student affairs staff, familiarising students with labs, the library, and learning spaces.



Future Designers 2025
  • ADI hosted Design Discovery Days at its Ébène campus from 7–8 March 2025, offering visitors an immersive look into the creative world. Attendees explored career prospects, course offerings, and live demonstrations across departments. The event served as an eye-opening experience for those considering careers in the design industry.



Career & Learning Lounge By Defi Media
  • The Academy of Design and Innovation took part in the 5th edition of the Career & Learning Lounge organised by Defi Media Group at the Caudan Arts Centre on 21 and 22 February 2025. With extensive media coverage, the event aimed to connect school leavers and aspiring students with institutions offering higher education opportunities. ADI’s presence over the two days enabled its team to engage with visitors, offering tailored advice on academic pathways and career prospects within the diverse and growing field of design.



Mauritius International University Career Expo
  • The Academy of Design and Innovation (ADI) actively participated in the Mauritius International University Career Expo held at the Swami Vivekananda Conference Centre, Pailles, from 14 to 16 February 2025. Organised annually by the Rotary Club of Grand Baie, the expo brought together local and international universities to provide guidance on study fields and career pathways. Heavily promoted through radio, press, billboards, banners, websites, and social media, the event drew large crowds of prospective students. ADI used this valuable platform to present its programmes and assist Higher School Certificate (HSC) leavers in navigating their academic and career options following the release of their exam results.



Job, Education & Career Symposium-Caudan Art Centre
  • ADI participated in the Job, Education & Career Symposium at Caudan Arts Centre on 7–8 February 2025, promoting its diverse design programmes and services. The event’s widespread media coverage—via radio, print, TV, and social media—greatly enhanced the institution’s visibility.



Job & Education Fair-Flying Dodo, Bagatelle Mall
  • The Academy took part in the Job & Education Fair at Flying Dodo, Bagatelle Mall, on 24–25 January 2025. The fair served as a valuable platform to showcase ADI’s courses and services in design, especially for students considering enrolment for the March intake.



Launching of the Mascot of the 4ème Jeux de Rodrigues
  • The 4ème Jeux de Rodrigues, set to take place from November 27 to 30, 2024, showcases not only athletic talent but also creative design.The Academy of Design and Innovation (ADI) has been given the prestigious task of creating the official mascot and pictograms for the event. On August 30, 2024, at the Integrated and Sustainable Development Center in Contour Oblas,Rodrigues, the Logo, the Game’s song and the mascot were officially launched. Rodrigo, the mascot, is an Aldabra tortoise representing the endurance, strength, and resilience of Rodrigues Island. Designed by ADI students under the guidance of their Lecturers and Dr. Sabrina Ramsamy-Iranah, Rodrigo's shell is made from recycled materials and adorned with a traditional hat, symbolizing ecological responsibility and cultural pride. ADI students also designed 15 pictograms for various sports, enhancing the Games' visual identity and creating an engaging and unified atmosphere for athletes and spectators alike.



Training At Ciel Textile In Madagascar: Graduate and Upskilling Programme
  • Following the official launching of the Graduate and Upskilling programme on 16 April 2024 in Antananarivo and 18 April 2024 in Antsirabe, Madagascar, a series of face-to-face sessions were conducted from 7 July to 13 July by two Lecturers from the Fashion and Textile department of the Academy of Design and Innovation (ADI). The graduate programme has been crafted with courses and hands-on experience, where participants apply their knowhow to the assigned roles within specific departments. The ADI team has travelled to Madagascar to oversee the graduates' practical training in various factories in Antananarivo and Antsirabe. The visit to Madagascar has marked the first face-to-face session of the upskilling programme as well as the beginning a new journey for the staff of CIEL Textile.



Training of Trainers Programme at Mauritius Prison Service
  • In collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Waste Management and Climate Change, the Academy of Design and Innovation has designed a 60-hour course under the Training of Trainers Programme at Mauritius Prison Service. The Course on ‘Wood Craft using goyave de chine’ was delivered to 11 Prison Officers from 16 March to 18 may to empower them in order to create a range of decorative and functional items to promote circular and green jobs. This enabled participants to enhance their creativity in terms of knowledge, skills and understanding in the field of wood craft. An award ceremony was held on 23 May 2024, at the Mauritius Prison Service in Beau Bassin, with the Minister of Environment, Solid Waste Management and Climate Change, Mr Kavydass Ramano; the Minister of Industrial Development, SMEs and Cooperatives, Ms Naveena Ramyad; the Acting Commissioner of Prison, Mr Jaganaden Rungadoo; and other personalities.



Workshop with the National Women Entrepreneur Council (NWEC)
  • The Academy of Design and Innovation (ADI) in collaboration with the National Women Entrepreneur Council (NWEC) have recently orchestrated a two-day workshop aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs within the handicraft sector on the 21st and 22nd of May 2024.



Graduate Programmes and upskilling programme for the staff Ciel Textile Ltd in Madagascar
  • The ADI in collaboration with Ciel Textiles Ltd launched the Graduate Programme and upskilling programme for the Staff of Ciel Textile Ltd in Madagascar from 14 -20 April 2024.

Bronze Award-National Productivity and Quality Excellence Awards
  • The Academy of Design and Innovation is the proud winner of the Bronze Award at the National Productivity and Quality Excellence Awards on 17 May 2024.

    This prestigious accolade has been awarded by the National Productivity and Competitiveness Council (NPCC) in recognition of our outstanding contributions in the category of Government Departments, Parastatals, and Registered Associations.



Design Exhibition and Career Guidance #Crea 2024
  • The ADI organised a Design Exhibition and Career Guidance #Crea 2024 at the Caudan Arts Centre, Caudan Waterfront, Port-Louis from 13 to 16 March 2024 from 10h to 17h to invite the public discover the captivating world of design through immersive displays and interactive experiences. This exhibition is a first for Mauritius as it presents all fields of design under one umbrella.

    The Official Honouring Ceremony will be held on Thursday 14 March 2024 at 16h00 and the function was graced by the Hon. Ms. Naveena Ramyad, Minister of Industrial Development, SMEs & Cooperatives.



Salon des Etudes Internationales-Madagascar
  • From 6 to 7 March, the Academy of Design and Innovation had the incredible opportunity to be part of the 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐄́𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 held at 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫. It was an unforgettable experience filled with passion, creativity, and inspiration.

The Mauritius International University Career Expo
  • The Mauritius International University Career Expo is an annual event organized by the Rotary Club of Grand Bay at the Swami Vivekananda Conference Centre Pailles, where local and international Universities are present.

    The institute seized the opportunity to provide information on the different courses and guide the students in their future career orientation, especially to the HSC leavers who recently received their school results.

Career & Learning Lounge by Defi Media
  • On the 26 and 27 February 2024, the Defi Media Group came up with the 4th Edition of its Career & Learning Lounge at the Caudan Arts Centre.

    The Academy of Design and Innovation seized the opportunity to participate in the event which was highly mediatized to connect with the students and school leavers with wishing to pursue higher studies. The ADI team was there on both days to guide the students on possible study paths in the Design field.

Salon du lycéen et de l’étudiant – Reunion
  • ADI was present on the online Platform of the Salon du lycéen et de l’étudiant held at Reunion Island from 24 to 25 November 2023 to Market its courses to the prospective students.

Salon International du Textile Africain ( SITA)
  • The Salon International du Textile Africain (SITA) is an event that brings together all the stakeholders in the textile industry. This event is one of the major activities in the field of textile in Africa. It is a platform for the promotion and enhancement of textiles manufactured on the African continent and is displayed through several fashion shows, including a competition.

    The 9th SITA was held at the Palais du Peuple in Conakry, Guinea. It was the third participation of the Academy of Design & Innovation (ADI). The mission composed of 7 delegates with the Head of Delegation Mrs A. D Poreema, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Parent Ministry.

    The director of ADI, Dr. (Mrs.) S. D. Ramsamy-Iranah invited as the president of the Jury Members to this edition of SITA.

International Education Fair 2023 in Kenya and Tanzania
  • ADI participated in the International Education Fair 2023 schedule in Kenya and Tanzania. The event is being organized by “S3 Education Consultants” which is a London-based company, specialising in international student recruitment for various destinations like the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, Mauritius, Malaysia, India, UAE and many others.

    In line with its strategic plan, this event represents a great opportunity for the ADI to expand its services and establish a presence in the African Continent.
