The 4ème Jeux de Rodrigues, set to take place from November 27 to 30, 2024, showcases not only athletic talent but also creative design.The Academy of Design and Innovation (ADI) has been given the prestigious task of creating the official mascot and pictograms for the event. On August 30, 2024, at the Integrated and Sustainable Development Center in Contour Oblas,Rodrigues, the Logo, the Game’s song and the mascot were officially launched. Rodrigo, the mascot, is an Aldabra tortoise representing the endurance, strength, and resilience of Rodrigues Island. Designed by ADI students under the guidance of their Lecturers and Dr. Sabrina Ramsamy-Iranah, Rodrigo's shell is made from recycled materials and adorned with a traditional hat, symbolizing ecological responsibility and cultural pride. ADI students also designed 15 pictograms for various sports, enhancing the Games' visual identity and creating an engaging and unified atmosphere for athletes and spectators alike.

Following the official launching of the Graduate and Upskilling programme on 16 April 2024 in Antananarivo and 18 April 2024 in Antsirabe, Madagascar, a series of face-to-face sessions were conducted from 7 July to 13 July by two Lecturers from the Fashion and Textile department of the Academy of Design and Innovation (ADI). The graduate programme has been crafted with courses and hands-on experience, where participants apply their knowhow to the assigned roles within specific departments. The ADI team has travelled to Madagascar to oversee the graduates' practical training in various factories in Antananarivo and Antsirabe. The visit to Madagascar has marked the first face-to-face session of the upskilling programme as well as the beginning a new journey for the staff of CIEL Textile.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Waste Management and Climate Change, the Academy of Design and Innovation has designed a 60-hour course under the Training of Trainers Programme at Mauritius Prison Service. The Course on ‘Wood Craft using goyave de chine’ was delivered to 11 Prison Officers from 16 March to 18 may to empower them in order to create a range of decorative and functional items to promote circular and green jobs. This enabled participants to enhance their creativity in terms of knowledge, skills and understanding in the field of wood craft. An award ceremony was held on 23 May 2024, at the Mauritius Prison Service in Beau Bassin, with the Minister of Environment, Solid Waste Management and Climate Change, Mr Kavydass Ramano; the Minister of Industrial Development, SMEs and Cooperatives, Ms Naveena Ramyad; the Acting Commissioner of Prison, Mr Jaganaden Rungadoo; and other personalities.

The Academy of Design and Innovation (ADI) in collaboration with the National Women Entrepreneur Council (NWEC) have recently orchestrated a two-day workshop aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs within the handicraft sector on the 21st and 22nd of May 2024.

The ADI organised a Design Exhibition and Career Guidance #Crea 2024 at the Caudan Arts Centre, Caudan Waterfront, Port-Louis from 13 to 16 March 2024 from 10h to 17h to invite the public discover the captivating world of design through immersive displays and interactive experiences. This exhibition is a first for Mauritius as it presents all fields of design under one umbrella.
The Official Honouring Ceremony will be held on Thursday 14 March 2024 at 16h00 and the function was graced by the Hon. Ms. Naveena Ramyad, Minister of Industrial Development, SMEs & Cooperatives.

From 6 to 7 March, the Academy of Design and Innovation had the incredible opportunity to be part of the 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐄́𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 held at 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫. It was an unforgettable experience filled with passion, creativity, and inspiration.

The Mauritius International University Career Expo is an annual event organized by the Rotary Club of Grand Bay at the Swami Vivekananda Conference Centre Pailles, where local and international Universities are present.
The institute seized the opportunity to provide information on the different courses and guide the students in their future career orientation, especially to the HSC leavers who recently received their school results.

On the 26 and 27 February 2024, the Defi Media Group came up with the 4th Edition of its Career & Learning Lounge at the Caudan Arts Centre.
The Academy of Design and Innovation seized the opportunity to participate in the event which was highly mediatized to connect with the students and school leavers with wishing to pursue higher studies. The ADI team was there on both days to guide the students on possible study paths in the Design field.

The Salon International du Textile Africain (SITA) is an event that brings together all the stakeholders in the textile industry. This event is one of the major activities in the field of textile in Africa. It is a platform for the promotion and enhancement of textiles manufactured on the African continent and is displayed through several fashion shows, including a competition.
The 9th SITA was held at the Palais du Peuple in Conakry, Guinea. It was the third participation of the Academy of Design & Innovation (ADI). The mission composed of 7 delegates with the Head of Delegation Mrs A. D Poreema, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Parent Ministry.
The director of ADI, Dr. (Mrs.) S. D. Ramsamy-Iranah invited as the president of the Jury Members to this edition of SITA.

ADI participated in the International Education Fair 2023 schedule in Kenya and Tanzania. The event is being organized by “S3 Education Consultants” which is a London-based company, specialising in international student recruitment for various destinations like the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, Mauritius, Malaysia, India, UAE and many others.
In line with its strategic plan, this event represents a great opportunity for the ADI to expand its services and establish a presence in the African Continent.
